Gorumara
This place is arround fifty kilometers away from Jalpaiguri town, fifteen kilometers from Lataguri and ten kilometers from Chalsa and declared as National Park in the year 1949. The area is located in the flood plains of Murti and Jaldhaka river of Dooars region in Jalpaiguri district. Tourists can enjoy wildlife from Jatraprasad and other observatories of Garumara forest. The area of this national park is 79.45 sq. km. It is recomended that visitors hire vehicles from either Chalsa or Lataguri to enter the National park. Accommodation is available at Gorumara forest rest house, Murti forest lodge and private resorts in Lataguri and Chalsa. |

moist deciduous Sal forest associated with Odal, Lali, Katus, Dilenia,
Simul-Siris-Khair, Terai grassland.
Major Fauna : Great Indian Rhinoceros, Leopard, Elephant, Sloth bear, Hog deer, Pigmy hog, Sambar, Python, Turtle, Migratory birds, Peafowl, Indian Pied Hornbill. |

Buxa
This National park is famous for tiger and leopard. Arround 117.10 sq.km. of Buxa forest is within the area of this National Park. One can reach here easily from Alipurduar, the subdivisional town of Jalpaiguri district. Major Flora : Sal, Simul, Siris, Khair, Champ, Sidha, Toon, Lali, Lampate, Mandane, Katus, Teak, Orchids. Major Fauna : Tiger, Leopard (Black Panther also ), Elephant, Clouded Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Barking Deer, Gaur, Pangolin, Python, Raptors, Blacknecked Crane & other birds, Moths, Butterflies. |
