About Section
ICDS section This section functions under Department Women & Child Development & Social Welfare, Govt of West Bengal. This section is responsible for running the ICDS project which includes supplementary nutrition, non formal pre-school education, immunization, health check up, referral services to its beneficiaries such as 0-6 children and pregnant and lactating mothers. There are several programme and activities are done by the AWWs with conducting mothers meeting, Village Health & Nutrition Day (VHND),”SUPUSTI DIVAS” (on 4th Friday) & “Convergence meeting” (on 4th Saturday). Moreover, a programme namely SAG(Scheme for Adolescent Girls)- Kanyashree Convergence Programme is going on to empower the 11-18 years Adolescent Girls with providing the Sakhi-Saheli Training , life School education , Nutrition and Health Education & Exposure visits to the Post Offices, Banks, Police Stations and other Local offices . 10 No.s of Creches for the children upto 6 year are running by 3 NGOs in the district which are being monitored by the CDPO concerned.
